The Supreme Court of India reserves the order on the Aravind Kejriwal's bail plea. Administrative Services Group has stated that if SC grants bail to Arvind Kejriwal it will demoralise Delhi High Court. SC says: "This is not a case where leniency should be shown. The individual did not seek relief from the trial court, and the exception to directly approach the High Court or Supreme Court should not apply here".

The Supreme Court of India will hear the case of chief minister Aravind Kejriwal on 5th September, Thursday. Kejriwal is challenging the Delhi High Court’s decision upon which Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested him in the now scrapped excise policy case.

Delhi High Court issued summons to Kejriwal and other accused for the case in the “fourth supplementary chargesheet” of the CBI in the excise policy case. Delhi High Court also extended CM’s judicial custody till 11 September.
