The terrorists active in the valley are believed to have infiltrated from across the border and managed to reach the dense forests in their attempt to revive terrorism in the peaceful Jammu region.

The encounter between security forces and terrorists is going on in Akar forest near Patnitop in Jammu and Kashmir. On receiving intelligence information, the army and police team cordoned off the area. Seeing themselves surrounded, the terrorists started firing. The army is giving a befitting reply to this firing of the terrorists.

According to sources, terrorists were seen in Siyozdhar area but they escaped taking advantage of the fog. Due to bad weather in Siyozdhar area, the fog was so dense that it was difficult to see even at a distance of two feet. Due to this, the security forces faced problems in the search operation.

After the terrorists left, the security forces have increased the security cover towards Doda. A week ago too, there was a shootout between terrorists and security forces in Dudu Basantgarh. Even then the terrorists had escaped. The security forces had surrounded these terrorists in the forest for a week, but the bad weather is becoming a shield for these terrorists.

Additional security forces may be deployed in the Chenab Valley region. After the recent terrorist incidents in the Chenab Valley area, additional security forces may be deployed here. Army Northern Command chief Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar on Tuesday reviewed the ongoing anti-terrorism operations in the Chenab Valley region.
Lieutenant General Kumar assessed the possibilities of deployment of additional forces in the area. He also emphasized on coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Police and paramilitary forces.

More than half a dozen encounters have taken place at different places in the upper reaches of Doda district since June 12, in which four soldiers including a captain have been martyred and three Pakistani terrorists have been killed. During this, some security personnel have also been injured. On August 11, a brief firing took place between terrorists and security forces during a search operation in Naunatta and Nagseni Payas of Kishtwar district. Security forces are conducting a massive search operation in the upper reaches of both the districts to nab those terrorists.
