A stampede broke out at New Delhi Railway Station tonight, in which several people were injured. The incident was reported at 9:55 pm, after which the railway administration and security personnel reached the spot. 

The incident took place on platform number 14 and 15 of New Delhi Railway Station. The call was received at 21:55-21:56 pm. A total of four fire engines were sent to the spot. Detailed information is awaited. 

According to sources, a huge crowd had gathered at the station due to the cancellation of two trains going to Prayagraj. The passengers panicked after the sudden announcement of train cancellation, leading to chaos and a stampede. 

Several passengers are reported to be injured in the stampede, who are being given immediate medical facility. Additional security forces have been deployed to control the situation at the railway station. Four fire engines have reached the spot and relief work is going on. The railway administration has appealed to the passengers to remain calm and not pay attention to rumors. 

 Railway officials are investigating the entire incident as to why the trains were cancelled and whether adequate arrangements were made or not. Special helpline numbers may be issued for the affected passengers. Passengers are angry over this incident and questions are being raised on the railway administration.

When Prayagraj express was standing at platform no. 14, lots of public were present at platform. Swarna trata senani express and Bhubaneshwar rajdhani were  delayed and passenger of these trains were also present at platform no. 12,13 and 14. Aa per CMI every hours 1500 general tickets were sold by railways. That’s why the crowd became uncontrollable. There is stampede at platform no. 14 and near escalator near platform no. 16.
