MUHAMMAD YUNUS TAKES OATH AS BANGLADESH'S INTERIM PRIME MINISTER

Muhammad Yunus takes oath as the interim Prime Minister of Bangladesh administered under President Mohammad Shahabuddin, at the presidential palace, Bangabhaban, yesterday. Out of 16, 13 members sworn in as the advisors of the interim government.

The cabinet ministry thereby comprises of: Saleh Uddin Ahmed, Asif Nazrul, Adilur Rahman Khan, Hasan Arif, Tauhid Hossain, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Brig. Gen. (Retd) M. Sakhawat Hossain, Supradip Chakma, Farida Akhtar, Bidhan Ranjan Roy, A.F.M. Khalid Hossain, Nurjahan Begum, Sharmin Murshid, Md. Nahid Islam (students’ representative), Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan (students’ representative) and Farooqui Azam.

Since the Prime Minister’s Official residence Ganobhawan is in utter destruction due to the revolt, state guest house Jamuna will be residence and office of the chief adviser. As reports, committee will be built to regulate the damage of the crucial buildings.

 In his first speech Yunus stated Bangladesh as “one big family” where students gave a “new birth”. he also mentioned, “my first word to you is to protect the country from disorder. Protect it from violence so we can follow the path our students have shown us”

PM Narendra Modi greeted Yunus with best wishes and hoped for early comeback of the nation to peace and democracy ensuring safety to Hindus and minorities.
