Japan’s PM Fumio Kashida announces to step down in September amidst scandals and discontent over inflation, marking an end of three-years term and paving way to a new Japanese Prime Minister.

“Politics cannot function without public trust,” Kashida states while declaring his stepping down from PM post. He also mentioned of not seeking re-election as the Liberal Democratic Party leader (LPD). He said “I will now focus on supporting the newly elected LDP leader as rank-and-file member of the party”. Kasida’s leaving points to greater chances of him to be replaced at the position of President of the party and extending his leadership on the world’s fourth biggest economic country.

Owing to the ties of LPD with controversial Unification Church and political donations that were found unrecorded executed at the party’s fund-raising events made public support deteriorate.
