NEERAJ WINS SILVER AT THE PARIS OLYMPIC

Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won silver medal at the Paris Olympics on Thursday. Neeraj competed with Arshad Nedeem of Pakistan and Anderson Peter of Grenada who acquired gold and silver medals respectively.

It was Neeraj’s 89.45 m of throw earlier in the tournament mounted him “best in the season” that qualified him to the finals. But it was Arshad’s 92.97m throw in the final set a new record in the Olympic bagged him gold. “today was Arshad’s day, I gave my best, but there are areas that need improvement” said the Indian javelin star.

PM Narendra Modi congratulated Chopra saying “excellence personified” and motivated him for further success.
