Delhi University (DU) is ready to welcome a fresh batch of newly admitted 68,500 Undergraduate first year students on Thursday. The whole admission count was confirmed after the university published its 2nd merit list. University authority stated that for the first week a joint control room operated by the dean of student’s welfare (DSW) and proctor’s office will be on service ( August 29 to September 3). This provision is given to solve any hindrance the freshers face during the onboarding process.

“The control room is being set up to deal with ragging complaints or any other problems. New students will be encouraged to reach out to us in case they need any help,” said a DU official personnel. Another proctor Geeta Sahare conducted a class on ethics and values for second and third year students on Tuesday. Sahare said, “We conducted an offline class in Janki Devi College and Keshav Mahavidyalaya. We have also taken online classes with senior students in Rajdhani College and Miranda House. The aim is to not just prevent ragging, but to sensitise students on how they should welcome their juniors,”. The college apart from this is arranging for orientation programs, guided university tour for students and other programs.
