14 DIED AS INDIAN BUS PLUNGES INTO RIVER IN NEPAL

Around 14 people died in an incident where a Uttar Pradesh registered passenger bus fell into Marsyangdi River in Central Nepal on Friday. The bus was travelling from Gorakhpur to Kathmandu via Pokhara with almost 45 passengers. At least 25 passengers were rescued from the bus. Massive rescue operation started after the incident happened.

Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Madhav Patel with his team of 45 Armed Police Force personnels rushed to the accident site and began rescue operation. Media reported: "About 35 APF personnel from no 23 Battalion, Bhanu, Tanahun, are involved in the rescue operation". Spokesperson of Tanahun District Police Office DSP Dipak Kumar Raya reported that the bus fell into the Marsyangdi River around 11:30 a.m. today.
