Three Senior Kolkata police officers, two Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) are suspended at the vandalism that broke into R G Kar Medical College in the 14-15 August midnight. Days after the rape- murder incident of the PG trainee medic, a mob of thousands vandalised the emergency department, nursing station and medicine store of the hospital premise. The Kolkata Police comes under severe criticism of High Court and the Supreme court owing to the fact that the police authority was uncapable to control the violent mob. The apex court on Tuesday put questions to the Kolkata Police about the delay in lodging FIR of the doctor’s case, delay in handing over the body to the victim’s family, and not being able to control the women and doctors in the vandalized mob.

Besides this CBI has opted for polygraphy test for accused Sanjay Roy and ex-principal Dr. Sandip Ghosh. According to reports, Ghosh has been grilled by CBI several times for almost 12 hours in each summon, whereas the only accused Roy is under CBI custody.
